Q. When I start taking lessons, what happens to my game?

A. When you're trying to change your swing you sometimes go backward. Doing something different, thinking about a new movement throws use off at first. The proper fundamental is awkward at first. If you're going to improve you must stick with the new movement. Give it a chance to work into the muscle system. As time goes on it will become a muscle memory. Most golfers are inconsistent. Good shoots, and bad shoots, not understanding why. So if you're not improving and inconsistant why not work on iliminating the bad shoots by developing good fundamentals.

Q. Do I have to change my whole swing?

A. If you're doing something wrong it needs to change. There are key areas of the swing that must be right or no improvement can take place. In most cases not everything is off. Adjusting the weight transfer sequence or hand release can make a tremendous difference. If you want to get better you must be willing to make the changes needed. Before we change any movement we video tape your swing so you know exactly what needs to change. It is my job to show you what you're doing, and what is holding you back from improvement. Side by side comparisons with touring pros will shed light on the what is happening.

Q. How long does it take to make these changes?

A. That is tricky question. We're all different. I've had people calling me six months after completing their lessons saying, "I had trouble at first, but I knew you were right and I stuck with it and I'm playing better than I ever had in my life." I've had people improveright off the bat. You just don't know. But I do know you will improve if you stick with my system. But I contend that it takes 2000 swings on the driving range for any lasting change. This is over a two to three month period of time.

Q How good can I expect to get?

A. Another tricky question. It all depends on how much you want to put into it. There is no way you're going to improve without practice. No one has a magic move or system that will work without putting time into it. But my system is easy to learn and easy to maintain. So if getting better, becoming more consistent, and with practice developing a relaxed fluid motion without a conscious thought hitting the ball farther and straighter is your goal this is the program for you.

Q. What about my golf clubs? Or I don't have clubs.

A. First if you don't have clubs I will let you borrow a club to practice with. I do like to check out current clubs just to see if they fit you properly. I also offer a complete club fitting at no charge. I use a Zelocity Launch monitor to measure club head speed, ball speed and lauch angle. It's important, and you can pick up some distance and accuracy with the right clubs.
